Antenna works good on current propagation.

Kicked on the #D220 tonight for some #SWLing - heard a religious station, two Spanish broadcasts, and a BBC-type station telling a story over the air.

Pretty sure I’m not catching much due to a high noise floor though. Once my schedule calms down during the semester I want to go drive out and do a #POTA so maybe I’ll bring this radio and see what I can hear in a less-urban environment.

Just spinning the HF radio dial I found some nice classical/opera show on 5850. Thanks WRMI. 🙂

also tuned this Japanese language station, station was talking about Hiroshima, Kanto, Chiba, but signal was too poor to understand much #swling

playing with a simple SW radio, managed to tune to a Chinese language station around 11.7MHz, by 22-23 hours GMT, the station also happened to play the PRC anthem March of the Volunteers, signal was sometimes good but couldn't identify much else #swling

I picked up something on #shortwave! It's in Spanish. The signal is pretty strong. I have a room-height (maybe 2 meter max?) telescoping antenna so it's got to be nearby, that antenna isn't strong enough to pick up nearly anything, and this signal is pretty strong (except when it isn't)
