This weather makes me want to stay home, but I know I’ll feel 100% better if I go to Short Run. I’ll share pix of my haul later: shortrun.org/

Work on my fifth poetry booklet has started!

Aka, the file was created and has a working title that probably will be permanent: "Unrealities"

It still will take some time as I need to collect enough content to fill the pages, but I've already started thinking about cover ideas (or my lack thereof)

I took a workshop with #GarethBrookes when he visited for #ShortRun this year. Lovely man, makes stunning comics with #embroidery, #pyrography (with a soldering iron), and other unusual means. They let us take home supplies and Gareth was very encouraging about us using embroidery in our own #comics. I love when artists are open and generous with sharing their skills. Images from “The Dancing Plague” and “Threadbare”.

Angels holding spears rendered in blue embroidered thread on muslin. Below them are a platform full of medieval people dancing wildly, rendered by burns on the muslin. Demons with forked tongues are below them, rendered in red embroidery. A woman has dropped her basket and looks stunned at the dancing: “Mother Jesus, I tremble before your showings.” She can see all of the supernatural beings and their influence on the dancers.A naked man on his phone holds his penis. Rendered in embroidery on muslin. Some of the threads are not tied off, extending away from his body untidily, but adding to the texture and imperfection of the image.
