I really want to switch away from my #wyze cameras and doorbell to something that works better, but dang the cost is high. My Wyze stuff works…ok…but it’s nothing special. The two way audio sucks on the Cam V3. The wireless doorbell works ok, but is sluggish to start recording (however this might be related to our somewhat subpar placement). The Outdoor Cam is, well, it’s wireless and I’ve got a solar panel for it. That’s about all that’s nice about it.
Ideally I’d switch over to #Ubiquiti but I’m not running Ethernet everywhere. #Ring has everything I want, but it’s Amazon. #SimpliSafe doesn’t have a wireless doorbell. It’s all just…meh.
Suggestions for other options out there #fediverse?
Cable companies used to every several months increase your prices by a couple of bucks and claim they're serving you better by shuffling channels (they weren't). Now other services like #SimpliSafe have figured out this game. Before I cut the cable my monthly cost had crept up to about 3 times what it was when I first subscribed. #greed

I've been happy with my #SimpliSafe system but just like a cable company I've just been informed of my new increased rate, only $2 more per month, after less than a year of service. A couple dollars more now, a couple dollars more every year until you're up to a hundred bucks a month. No effing thanks. I've been down this road. I cut the cable cord many years ago for this kind of crap. Looks like I'll just self monitor.

It's no secret that I've got #anxiety. My dream leaked into my waking world and I thought someone knocked on my door, at midnight, when my home and neighborhood are asleep. This is #NotAnAd but I love that #SimpliSafe has a banner at the top that says Everything is OK.
I can still down into other components as needed but this little reassurance in the middle of the night is so nice for me.

Just installed #simplisafe alarm system at home today. It took quite some time, but will save a lot of money each month.
