Finn Thomson Glen Garioch 12. NC, NCF, 59.3% abv finished in Tokaji.

Slight ginger spice with wave after wave of red fruit on the nose: raspberries, redcurrants and sweet strawberries, like Angel Delight 😀 (a powdered dessert mix here in the UK). Citrusy orange hits the tongue which develops into sweet candied orange peel, caramel and a lovely dry, woody spiciness. A long finish of liquorice, spice and subtle grassy notes.

It is superb 😍 I get something different with every mouthful. A bottle that is unlikely to last long.

Infrequent Flyers Knockdhu 8, NC, NCF, 58.9% abv (bottled 2021)

Gentle on the nose with subtle waves of sweet vanilla, heather honey and floral aromas. Leave it for a few minutes and along comes some melon, apple and citrusy lemon. The first sip comes in roaring hot, spicy and peppery. A few drops of water and it calms to an oily creamy mouthfeel with more sweet white fruit: apples, banana, melon and a hint of toffee. A long, spicy, slightly citrusy finish.

#Speyburn 10y is really not bad for a #SingleMalt.

As a former #rum fanboy, only smooth #Speyside malts are of interest for me.

For me, its aroma is very close to #Glenlivet Distillers Reserve.

Friday night Scottish Championship Fitba' - a bit of a meaningless game between Raith and Dunfermline, but it is a local Derby so there might be some tetchiness there :-D

Sipping this splendid Glen Elgin from local IBs Tri Carragh.

Tri Carragh - Glen Elgin 12, 55.5% abv, NC, NCF.

Black cherry compote, blackcurrants and raspberries. Sweet barley sugar and sherbert. First sip and a lovely tingle on the lips and tongue. A few drops of water release gentle floral notes, liquorice, black treacle and a touch of mint. A long finish with lingering cinnamon spice, orange zest and chocolate.

Ooo, it's good :-D

Tobermory 10 60.3% abv, NC, NCF.
Five years in American Oak Ex-Bourbon Barrells then finished for a further five in Port Casks. Absolutely outstanding 🥰 Lovely creamy mouthfeel with sweet fruity notes and some nuttiness. Chocolate and spicy cinnamon red berries which linger on the palate.

Skene Knockdhu 10 yo, NC, NCF 50% abv.
A lovely honey colour - creamy toffee and wood notes with bright red fruit. Floral parma violets, vanilla, red fruit and honey with ginger heat. Medium-finish with a touch of spicy.
