I spent a couple of days at the South of our country. In contrast to the flatness of most of the regions in the Netherlands, here there are hills and valleys. A small river at my feet ran up to the castle of Sint Gerlach. It may have been a monastery, rather than a castle, considering there is a huge church behind it. This is a black and white drawing but I took a picture because the colours were so beautiful and I will make a coloured pencil drawing as soon as I get time to do it. If you look closely you can see that I wrote the colours on the trees in the background.

Me and a group of other artists went to this former industrial area near the German border. There was a strong wind so I stayed in between the industrial buildings in order to not get swept away. Beautiful drawings were made, I had to finish mine when I was home because I just needed some more time.

Chacun y voit sa propre vérité, bien sûr, mais en ces temps très « anti-science » (je ne sais pas si ça se dit), ça m’a fait du bien et donné envie de croquer.
