Happy Spring Equinox! The future doesn’t look so bright right now, but at least we are heading for the spring and summer. Here in the northern hemisphere, the brighter half of the year began about 90 minutes ago.

One of my favorite intimate scenes I've stumbled upon this year—a small pine tree and prickly pear cactus waiting for warmer days, nestled in a small collection of sand atop a sandstone ridge.

A small, lone tree with sparse foliage grows on a barren, rocky landscape. The ground is uneven and sandy, with some shallow depressions and patches of dry vegetation nearby. The scene is arid, with minimal plant life surviving in the harsh conditions.
