Not my typical type of post, but it would be remiss of me to not share this, although late this time around, I will surely bring this up earlier next year.

On October 4-5, 2025, the world’s largest anual hackathon event returns. The NASA Space Apps Challenge brings together coders, designers, engineers, storytellers, and curious minds to tackle real challenges in Earth and space science.

Registration is done individually, but team formation opened on August 21st. You can either create your own team, join an existing one, or even work solo if you prefer. Teams can have up to six people, though smaller groups are encouraged for collaboration.

Whether you’re flying solo or teaming up, this is your chance to contribute to solutions that reach beyond our planet. Check the local events near you or join virtually at the Universal Event: spaceappschallenge.org/2025/local-events

I totally missed that (European Space Agency) had a pride shirt again this year! I haven't ordered it yet but you can bet I will when I get back from vacation. Too late for June, not too late to just wear it every day, as one should.

How it can be like working at a space agency today: #HappyPride #SpaceForAll

(@DLR is something like the German NASA and these are officially allowed to put on work material. So, I just beautified my laptop.)

A number of stickers laying on a table, one is put on my work laptop. The stickers show planets in different pride colours and a smal spacecraft. They have a text reading "pride @ DLR - space for all".

Next to it: A handwritten sign "Happy Pride y'all (Help yourselves) for door signs, laptops, notebooks ...

The U.S. Space Force uniforms were uniquely designed with women in mind before adapting for men, a first for a U.S. military branch. This approach, highlighted by the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum, aimed to emphasize women's importance in the Space Force and reduce future alteration costs. This initiative began quietly in 2019 when the branch was established. #space #equality #spaceforall #women #ladiesfirst

NASA's Juno Mission Spots Two Jovian Moons - 11/29/2021

Non-Random Space Fact: Io is currently the most geologically active place in our solar system. It's volcanoes can sometimes be seen with large Earth-based telescopes.

Across the top half of the image, a portion of the planet Jupiter looms, hurricane-like spiral wind wind patterns called 'vortices' in shades of beiges, taupes, and mauves stand out against a backdrop of inky blues and greens. Below the planet, two small moons can be seen against the blackness of space. Just below Jupiter and right of center is Io, its gray disk a little more than half-full. Near the bottom center of the image is Callisto, much smaller and with an orangish tint, its disk can also be seen to be less than half-full, like that of its larger sibling.
