Szántód, Lake Balaton, 1928. This villa on the shores of Lake Balaton is still there nearly a hundred years after this photo was taken. It is now surrounded by many trees that give shade in the hot summer months. Those that plant trees love others beside themselves, as the saying goes.

A black and photo of a two-storied villa surrounded by a very newly laid out, but very bare-looking, garden with only a one or two small trees and a few scrubs that look like they have only just been planted into the sandy soil. A well-dressed, prosperous-looking middle-aged couple are sitting in chairs beside the villa looking out upon the scene. In the neighbouring property there is a much smaller, single-storied house. A couple are standing there, by the fence looking at their neighbours.
