#TBlockGUI

2025-04-01

A new stable release of #TBlockGUI is out. It contains bug fixes and translation updates.

I also apologize because homebrew and windows builds are delayed for the command-line releases. This is due to a lack of free time, but I'll ship it as soon as possible.

Well, isn't it better like that?

#TBlockGUI #UI

The previous dialog of TBlock GUI for managing filter lists. It's a long table with a list of all blocklists. Most descriptions are too long and don't fit in the table. It's very ugly and we can't get the information that we want without having to scroll to the right. The new window of TBlock GUI for managing filter lists. The same table is available, but the "description" field was removed, which means that all data now fits in the table.
Instead, a new section was added next the table (on the right) and gives details about the selected filter list (such as title, description, homepage). It looks cleaner and prettier.

#TBlockGUI is getting some significant improvements right now, such as interface redesign and support for other languages! 🚀

A screenshot of TBlock GUI, with on the left the setup wizard showing different profiles that are available. On the right, the main activity showing that the protection is enabled. Both windows are in French and the main activity width is lower than before. The main button used to enable/disable TBlock is now also somehow bigger.

I finally decided to clean up the code of #TBlockGUI. Before, everything was in the same file and now I'm splitting everything in different files, depending on the window/dialog used. It also looks cleaner, with a lot less warnings!

A screenshot of PyCharm, showing a piece of code from TBlock GUI. On the right, the old code that has a lot of warnings and that is really ugly to view. On the left, my new code that is definitely better.

🎊 Some exciting news about #TBlockGUI:
A few minutes ago, @twann commited the last remaining feature that needed to be added to the #GUI of our content blocker!

All there is left to do now is to handle all possible errors, do a little testing and tidy up the #code. This means that an alpha release available for #testing should be expected soon :ablobcathappypaws:

If you wish to have more information about the remaining tasks (and maybe help), you can view these here: codeberg.org/tblock/tblock-gui

We don't want to give false hope, but we might release a first alpha release of the currently under development #TBlockGUI in the coming weeks👀

The latest news about #TBlockGUI:
We just finished making an important part of the upcoming #GUI for our #adblocker, which is a dialog that will allow users to subscribe to different filter lists. Here is a screenshot, if you have any suggestions :)

A screenshot of the upcoming GUI of the TBlock ad-blocker. There are two windows, the left one is a dialog that lists available filter lists, allowing the user to choose which ones to subscribe to. The right one is the main window, showing whether TBlock is active or not.
