There's now an extremely detailed blog post on @CrimethInc covering a lot of the events I reported on here in Seattle.

Seems like an awfully important read for folks facing ICE across the US.

And if you happen to be a financially stable person please consider finding individual Black Americans' mutual aid requests to support today.

Here's a friend from my local community who needs help keeping a roof over his head.

Update - Goal met, feel free to continue to donate just wanted to report back!

My rent is due on the 30th ($1909) and I still havent found a job. I've been getting interviews and rejection emails all year.
I'm starting to feel stress build up in my body. I can’t sleep. I'm overeating and I haven't been able to sit still enough even pray or do yoga.
I live in Tacoma and the eviction prevention system is weird for Pierce County, so I'm gonna humble myself and ask for community care, and leave my venmo here if you wanna help. Thanks in advance.

Pundits: "Lol, all these ADHD diagnoses are just people seeking amphetamines to abuse!"

Researchers:

By 2015, [...] there were 151 million excess mental disorders attributable to lead exposure, with the highest impacts found among people born between 1966 and 1986.

lead exposure doubled the risk of schizophrenia for 89 million Americans, while quadrupling the risk of attention deficit disorder (ADHD) among another 170 million U.S. adults.

“We essentially lead-poisoned the entire population.”

In Canada, long-term health surveys show that in 1978-1979, about 27 per cent of the population aged six to 79 had lead concentrations double that in Flint [Michigan, where the water is toxic] [1]

Pundits: "Ok but it's not like lead is that bad, it's a natural element!"

Researchers:

linked leaded gasoline exposure to an average loss of 2.6 IQ points per person as of 2015 [1]

[extreme, serial killer] sociopaths are exceedingly rare, representing less than a tenth of 1 percent of all murderers by some accounts. Yet in Tacoma, they were surprisingly common, [mapping to] the lead- and arsenic-poisoned plume that flowed from Asarco’s metal smelter northwest of Tacoma, which operated for almost a century and polluted more than 1,000 square miles of the Puget Sound area, the source of the famous “aroma of Tacoma.” [2]

Pundits: "fine but we've changed those laws! That;'s a thing of the past."

Researchers:

[ongoing exposure to products containing] heavy metals like mercury, cadmium and even the continued use of lead. But also phthalates used to make plastic bendable, pesticides to protect crops, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — the latter a group of 4,700 “forever chemicals” used in everything from cosmetics and food packaging to carpets, diapers and clothing.

Unlike in Europe, where the regulatory burden is on companies to show consumer products are safe, in Canada, many consumer products are not adequately tested [1]

Went to the #nokings protest in #tacoma last Saturday and shot in #infrared here is one of my favorites.

Fuck outta here, bro. And no king are two signs being held up by protestors in a crowd. Everything is dyed pink in infrared light, esp the leaves of trees and clothing as light reflects off. A turquoise sky and bright pink reflections give the photo a surreal feel.
