Just saw #TheMagicFlute by #Mozart at #SFOpera, and it was abolutely lovely!

Tonight was one of the final dressed rehearsals, and oh boy it's a such fun visual reimagining—done in an homage to silent films, 1920's-era cabaret, early Hollywood animation, and #EdwardGorey. 🤩

When kids laugh throughout, it demonstrate their #engagement to the story. Kudos to opera singers, the orchestra, the dancers and everyone in the #show.

Dan's Monostatos at Oper Leipzig's current Zauberflöte production from this autumn.

A man in an ankle length, mostly black, dress or very loose trousers, with rhombus or diamond patterns like a harlequin's on the lower part, in orange, red + yellow tones. A dark flame. The top is black and reveals his shoulders + arms. His left hand is lifted up and the right one holds onto a white rope. He's wearing leather wristbands.

Still running if you're in Germany, as I keep saying of these. Performances of the Magic Flute continue at least until Christmas.

You get the impression that the people who had offspring with the fish people "Deep Ones" in Innsmouth were not that far off from the vibes here. H.P. Lovecraft story reference.

Last night was excellent! The amount of talent on stage and in the orchestra was off the charts. The Welsh National Opera’s updated version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute shows that opera can be fun, relevant and for all ages. It was great to see a large number of younger people there.
