At 2am last night, the door-sensor in my shop failed to report in, so the house alarm started chirping (at least it wasn’t a smoke-detector battery, which was my first thought). When I put the new battery into the sensor today, that will be the third “ten year” battery in a sensor that has been installed in my shop, which is just over five years old. Which is a metaphor (analogy?) for a lot of things in the world today, I think. #ThingsFallApart
