Any ideas how to get from the #Berlin area to #Riga, Latvia, without taking a #plane?
I couldn't find a #train connection, and the busses I found take nearly 24 hours. I'm happy to #SlowTravel, including overnight stopovers, but I do need a proper bed / sleeper train at night.
I'm considering driving by car, but maybe there is a #PublicTransport connection that I missed?
Today is the last day of my working week and I’m in for a nice, short shift.
I drive from Gillingham to Luton, where I have an hour break.
After the break, I drive back to Gillingham, where I report to the Duty Resource Manager and effectively sit as “spare” for 1.5 hours (although there’s not actually much I can really do in such a short time.
I’m then back in for the early shift on Friday.

I’m on a slightly amended job today (due to it being a Bank Holiday) so got to come in a bit later.
I drive from Gillingham to London Bridge, where I have a 1.5 hour break.
After the break, I drive to Luton, straight back down to Rainham and then up to Gillingham, where I’m done for the day.
I’m on a late start today; 17:50.
I drive from Gillingham to Rainham, up to Kentish Town (where the service terminates) and back to London Bridge, where I have an hour break.
After the break, I drive back to Kentish Town, then to Gillingham (where the service terminates) and then as ECS to Rochester Down Loop, where I berth the unit for the night before getting a taxi home.
Today, I have a nice, short shift.
I drive from Gillingham to Rainham and back to Gillingham, where I have an hour break.
After the break, I drive to Rainham again, up to West Hampstead Thameslink, where the service terminates.
I then drive the unit as ECS into Cricklewood depot via the Wash Road (although apparently the wash is out of action at the moment) before berthing it there and getting a train home.
Yesterday, when I arrived at Charlton on the Up North Kent (heading towards London), I was contacted by the signaller to advise that the Up Greenwich was blocked, so I’d have to go on a diversion.
I continued straight on the Up North Kent, through Charlton Tunnel (which I’ve only ever been through twice before, both times in the up direction) and fast to London Bridge, where I arrived for my break about 5 minutes late due to congestion.

It’s a glorious day today and I’m going to get to enjoy it for a bit later!
I drive from Gillingham to Rainham and up to London Bridge, where I have a 3 hour break. That’s plenty of time for food and a wander along the Thames!
After the break, I drive from London Bridge to Kentish Town (where the service terminates) and then back to Gillingham (where the service terminates) before driving the unit as ECS into the depot and berthing it for the night. I then get a taxi home.
I’m back after my long weekend!

Es gab doch so eine Möglichkeit, dass man seine Bahnreisen speichern konnte und dann von einer Firma sich einen analogen Kunstdruck anfertigen lassen konnte.
Ich hab mir das scheinbar nicht gespeichert, würde es aber für #interrail gerne nutzen.

Yesterday, I had a “Route Refresh” day, so I used it to review maps and guides on a few of the sidings which we very seldom use, such as Bedford North End, St. Albans Centre and Smithfield.
Today, I drive from Gillingham to Rainham and up to Luton, where I have an almost-hour break.
After the break, I drive a FLU (Full Length Unit/12 car unit) from Luton to Bedford before travelling back to Luton for a 30 minute break.
After the last break, I drive back to Gillingham, where I’m done for the day before starting my long weekend.
I’ll be back to work for a late shift on Wednesday.

Today, I get a taxi to the Rochester Down Loop (the old Rochester station and prepare the unit berthed there, before driving it as ECS to Rainham. I then drive to Luton, where I have an hour break.
After the break, I drive back to Rainham and up to Gillingham, where I’m done for the day.
Today, I’m “spare”, along with 3 other drivers.
We’ll help out other drivers by doing their last Gillingham to Rainham to Gillingham bits to give them either a longer break or an early finish.

I got a taxi to Rochester, prepared the unit berthed there and then drove it as ECS to Dartford before driving in service to Gillingham, where I had an hour break.
After the break, I drove from Gillingham to Rainham, up to Kentish Town (where the service terminated), back to Rainham and up to Gillingham, where I was done for the day.
A signalling problem at East Croydon has caused cancellations to Bedford services, so I had to wait for the next Luton service from London Bridge to travel on to Luton for my break.
This train was delayed a little, so I arrived at Luton significantly later than scheduled. I still have to take my minimum break, which means my train to Gillingham will be leaving Luton 10 minutes late.
