For this paper, @scinoptica, Benedikt Schmal and I scraped the ESAC Database of #TransformativeAgreements and were able to analyse all available information on more than 1,000 TAs. Unsurprisingly, our findings show that TAs are reinforcing the dominance of large publishers.

The Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) has released a position statement on #OpenAccess, not supporting the model for centralised negotiations of #TransformativeAgreements recently proposed by the #Australia Chief Scientist. Instead, CAUL calls for a national OA strategy, whether a stand-alone strategy or part of a broader #OpenScience strategy, which "should not focus on establishing a mechanism to purchase content that mirrors current arrangements..."

On Aug 29, #Australia Chief Scientist released her advice to government on #OpenAccess models. She proposed the 'Public Access Model' for centralised negotiations of #TransformativeAgreements.
