Force-carrying “particles” (bosons) are specific, transient autaxic process-patterns mediating these relational exchanges. They *are* the #pattern of the interaction itself—a quantized unit of relational transformation within the broader autaxic field #system connecting the interacting patterns.

Particles and forces are different types of autaxic patterning and process, with the #architecture of #order emerging from consistent interactions

If you share all of your code and data but users can't rerun with a single command (including environment setup), that's commendable, but your project is not reproducible.

In other words, don't write a non-automated "pipeline" as a list of manual steps in your README!

🧱 Just back from the second #DiKopA workshop in Darmstadt and feeling energized (and slightly overwhelmed) by all the conversations around digital archaeology. From reproducibility to RMarkdown, hackathons to heritage policy—it’s clear we’re rethinking not just our tools, but our teaching, too.

💬 I wrote up some thoughts, reflections, and highlights here: 🔗 itsmoreofacomment.com/2025/05/

Concordia University's Senate recently passed a Resolution on #OpenScience and #OpenScholarship. I'm really happy about this because it raises institutional support, encouragement, and recognition for open scholarship. I think it'll help in decision-making. Dedicated colleagues have been trying to pivot our university toward open practices (including publication, open source software, and more). A couple years ago we made some recommendations spectrum.library.concordia.ca/ to this end

How do countries assess research? With spreadsheets, committees, metrics - and increasingly, soul-searching. A new @RoRInstitute study compares 13 national systems and maps a quiet shift: from 'publish or perish' to 'be useful, be fair':

No silver bullets, just a very thoughtful typology.
