I was still thinking about the question how such an conflictual difference of opinion between the UnityTechnologies executives and the #Unity users comes about? This might be due to the influence of the shareholders on the executives. The #UnityTechnologies shares (reg. as Unity Software Inc) have been traded on the NYSE since September 17, 2020. After the 3-year peak at ~200$, the stock has dropped into the $30-50 range for over a year and is currently trading around $31.

Unity posted an "apology". But the only thing they're sorry about is "confusion".
No need, there is no confusion. Cut the bulls**t.
I'm sure if they'd let the CEO say something he'd call us game developers f****ing idiots again.
The company needs to recycle the entire upper management at this point.

The world needs to realize stuff like this will always haunt us until we build an open ecosystem - like Godot!

Ich werde ab sofort keine neuen Spiele mehr kaufen, die auf der #UnityEngine basieren und auch installierte so gut wie möglich auf meinen Rechner und Konsolen halten, ohne diese neu installieren zu müssen. Ich kann es einfach nicht verantworten, dass kleine Spieleentwickler bankrottgehen. Ich weiß wirklich nicht, was #Unity sich dabei gedacht hat. Offenbar scheint ja auch #Insidertrading mit im Spiel zu sein. Da kann man nur hoffen, dass die #FTC dagegen vorgeht und die großen #Publisher und Entwickler gegen die Entscheidung von #UnityTechnologies klagen.

Das ganze wundert einen auch nicht, wenn der jetzige CEO #JohnRiccitiello der ehemalige CEO von EA ist.

@tomtrottel @heiseonline Würde mich nicht wundern wenn das ne #FalseFlag ist, weil dieselben Leute die bei #EA falsche Demos erkauften gegen #DeadSpace führen #UnityTechnologies heute.

Ist halt bequeme Ausrede um bei #Unuty Jobs zu canveln und wegen der gesenkten Kosten noch mehr #Boni zu kassieren...

Hat bei der Demontage von #Bayer auch geklappt...

Was genau hat sich #Unity dabei gedacht? Die zerstören damit nicht nur Tausende von Indie-Entwicklern, sondern auch sich selbst.
