Good morning from #Basel🇨🇭SBB. On the photo, taken a few minutes ago: a #Siemens #Vectron MS electric, a rare sight on a passenger working here, so far. Yet, according to the friendly engine crew, this locomotive type will haul #nightjet trains 403/402 between here and #Amsterdam 🇳🇱 in the future.

#Rosenheim 🇩🇪 last week: the #ÖBB #NightJet from #Brussels 🇧🇪 and #Paris 🇫🇷 to #Vienna 🇦🇹, hauled by a Class 193 #Siemens #Vectron electric, makes a station stop here. In four weeks’ time this will be history: the Paris portion will no longer run, and the #SNCF stickers on the cars will become redundant.

Pictures taken a week ago while at, and around, #Copenhagen 🇩🇰: #DSB #IC4 diesel units to, and from, #Kalundborg, as well as Class EB #Siemens #Vectron electrics on double-deck commuter services, and on #Hamburg 🇩🇪 #EuroCity trains, were among the vehicles seen.

Turku surely has one of the best train/ship connections in Europe. Some 200 m between platform and terminal.

(Just a bit sad that in the Turku–Helsinki direction, the evening train leaves a bit late after ship arrival, and additionally stands at Turku station for quite a while. But maybe that will improve in a future timetable.)

But given that it is Turku, I wouldn’t be surprised if the city at some point in the future decides that this must be ”developed” into some worse solution.

VR’s Vectrons have side windows with rear view mirrors that most (all?) continental Vectrons lack, they have only cameras.

A few impressions from last night’s #ÖBB 🇦🇹 #DaNi #nightjet #nightjet2 trip from #Hamburg 🇩🇪. Arrival into #Munich after breakfast, which was served in the cabin by the sleeper car attendant. (I travelled in sleeper economy.) There’s also a portion from #Amsterdam. This explains the presence of the #Siemens #Vectron in #NS 🇳🇱 livery.
