Could somebody explain the purpose of W Social? Mastodon already exists and is German-made, so what’s the point? Bluesky and X are American-made. Is choosing an instance really that confusing or off-putting?

Auf https://w-social.eu lässt sich die ursprüngliche Karte noch sehen, in einer etwas korrigierten Form.

Sie werden auch hierauf vermutlich nicht reagieren.

Ich finde es immer sehr schade, wenn #Journalismus unkritisch Werbematerial von (wannabe) #BigTech übernimmt, muss aber anerkennen, dass es hier eine gewisse Immunität gegen Kritik daran gibt.

So, eben mal bei #WSocial ein Konto zum spionieren gewarteschlangt. Und natürlich eins, um den Namen #Raumpatrouille für uns Fans zu sichern. Wird dann spannened mit dem Realname. Per eMail? Hat mein Stoffelch auch eins.

Ludzie odpowiedzialni za W Social (nowy EU-based portal społecznościowy) na razie odnoszą sukcesy jedynie w wykazywaniu się niekompetencją: niedziałający certyfikat TLS subdomeny www oraz to, że wiele domen pokrewnych wsocial.eu, np. z innymi TLD albo bardzo podobnych nie zostało zarejestrowanych. W związku z tym wiele osób zaczęło te domeny rejestrować. Wiem o w-social.eu, wsocial.it ( @_elena ), wsocial.cz ( @kayla ) oraz, zarejestrowanej przeze mnie, wsocial.pl. Większość z tych stron w ten czy inny sposób nawołuje do zainteresowania się Fediwersum 🙃 Jestem ciekawy reakcji włodarzy W Social kiedy dowiedzą się (bo na pewno jeszcze nie wiedzą 👀), że od dawna istnieje już europejska alternatywa dla amerykańskich social mediów. Dodatkowo chciałbym napomknąć, że wspomniana już Elena (która swoją drogą jest autorką filmu który można obejrzeć na wsocial.pl oraz dzięki której dowiedziałem się o całej sprawie) przygotowuje jakiś mocny artykuł na ten temat więc odsyłam do niej.

PS wsocial.pl to dosłownie pierwsza napisana przeze mnie from scratch strona więc każda krytyka mile widziana 👉👈

Maybe licence, not the protocol, is the reason #wsocial uses Bsky? What would be purpose of AT Protocol or ActivityPub if all users need to be verified? Imagine you use your ID to register while some bot can post from random server.

Is it normal to have all this encryption code on the home page HTML of #wsocial?
