De boeddhistische blik – walk with me

Bijzondere intieme blik op de boeddhistische gemeenschap van de wereldberoemde zenmeester Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) die op 22 januari 2022 op 95-jarige leeftijd is overleden. De boeddhistische leider bracht mindfulness naar het Westen en wordt beschouwd als vader van de mindfulness beweging en grondlegger van het geëngageerd boeddhisme.

In Zuid-Frankrijk stichtte hij een leefgemeenschap waar hij samen met andere boeddhistische monniken en -nonnen mindfulness tot een wereldwijd fenomeen heeft doen uitgroeien. Thay wordt genoemd als een van de tien invloedrijkste, belangrijkste en meest representatieve leiders uit de geschiedenis van het boeddhisme, gezien zijn invloed op het hedendaagse wereldboeddhisme. Alleen al in de V.S. zijn meer dan drie miljoen boeken van hem verkocht; tien miljoen in de hele wereld. De film volgt drie jaar lang de leefwijze van een aantal kloosterlingen.

De Boeddhistische Blik is de titel waaronder alle programma’s van de boeddhistische stroming vallen, de uitzendingen worden verzorgd door KRO-NCRV.
