Blowy and warm today. Because winter.
Blowy and warm today. Because winter.
When we moved in here, the lounge room was dark and dingy in the daytime. So we got a skylight installed and now it's much nicer even on cloudy days.
Fast forward to 150mm rain in 24 hours, much of it heavy rain in the evening, and let me tell you: subtitles are a fine thing!
Nobody tells you when you buy a skylight that you won't be able to hear the TV in heavy rain.
I think we're now at 350mm since 9am Sunday. The rain is mostly just off the coast, so it's quiet here now, at last. Looks like Sydney is copping it hard. Maybe the mid-north coast will get a chance to drain finally.
100mm since 9am. I think that makes it 300mm since Sunday 9am. A bit damp.
Fun times for folk at Dora Creek NSW. BOM shows Dora Creek at Cooranbong up 3.36m, more rain forecast tonight and tomorrow.
"The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to PREPARE TO ISOLATE for up to 2 days due to predictions that the Dora creek may experience flooding and cause isolation in the following streets adjacent to Dora Creek:"

Current status: wet.
From a forecast 30mm, we've had 120mm since 9am yesterday and it's still chundering down. With big thunder. Forecast is for up to 80mm today, up to 70mm tomorrow.
Somewhat glad I got eggs and wine yesterday. Would be a shitty walk today.
Oh, I don't think I'm going to enjoy tonight much…
Well, I had not expected to be putting the doona back on the bed at half past February. That Antarctic blast really has cooled things down. Am wearing layers this morning.
Current status: it's raining, and I Need a Waltz.
Enya, It's In The Rain.
Adorable, those cities in Australia that still receive some form of precipitation #WeatherTootin
Nice to see the forecast maximum temperatures for each day for the next week starting with a 2 (Celsius).
Current status: melting, it hit 40°C, or rather 40°C hit us 😓
More rain. Nice!
Was just thinking about the shape of the east coast (the curved crest shapes) and hurricanes, and whaddyaknow, there seems to be a link! I'm sure it's not as simple as that, though, can anyone out there recommend further reading on the topic?
