The Ham Radio Field Day event is underway!

The students of the Villanova University Amateur Radio Club are operating W3YP remotely over the internet.

So far, we have made some local 2m FM contacts and some satellite contacts ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ(FO-29). The upcoming RS-44 pass should be promising.

Overnight we may do some digital FT8 contacts on 20m band.

Wish us luck! ๐Ÿ˜

Today is #arrl #fieldday and the Boston Mountain Radio Club will operate as 1A from a remote location near Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas, using call sign K5JTB. We plan to use voice and digital modes. Looks like 10-15 m will be open during the day and 20-80 m at night. Good luck, everyone! Grid Square EM25

Operating 1D from home this year for #RACFD #arrlfd2023 Checked the weather forecast for my area: thunderstorms.
๐Ÿ™„โ›ˆ๏ธโšก๏ธโ›ˆ๏ธ
Different WX forecast says with hail but โ€œnon-severe riskโ€ & scattered.
Toying with the idea of stringing my original 20m monoband dipole in the attic so I could at least have one band going while my main antennas are unplugged when my lightning app alerts at 30km away.
Will also have WX radar up on one of my computer screens. #StaySafe

#fieldday2023 is this weekend! We'll be operating as 3A under our club call KC0RVS from https://goo.gl/maps/hoiyK3bF9GaM3HN4A. If you're in the area, please come out and say "Hi!". We'll put a cup of coffee in your hand and maybe a hot dog, then step aside and let you make a few contacts if you want. Especially if you're a CW operator!

Talk in will be on 447.7750 (156.7) and 146.460 simplex.
