With gen AI, I don't see a picture or here the audio. All I can see or hear is a collection of stolen goods. Gen AI corporations are not producing art, they are producing products entirely constructed from stolen works. They are nothing more than the digital equivalent of a vehicle chop shop. They are in fact normalized crime syndicates protected by people with power for the sake of profit and Influence.

I'm going to this bc I love Milton, his work and his talks, and Gresham is a good outfit.
But I am VERY pissed that they are using genAI slop to advertise.
I don't know who's behind it and it's disappointing either way - no one art form is above another. Musicians shouldn't be shitting on illustrators, or other visual artists, and vice versa. Writing is also art.

Stop. Free-to-use images exist. Don't be so fking lazy.

Writing is not a higher art than illustration. Don't dupe artists by using tools that steal their work & take work from them.

Pay someone to make you some cover art. Can't afford? Use free-to-use art, make your own, or just use text on a colour background. So many options that aren't #generativeAI.

It's all theft. You don't need to contribute to the thing that will kill your art, too, if we let it.
