Meek and Mesmerized

Whether they are hiding a fiercer side or are actually as sheepish as they appear, the socially awkward are a very common subject for hypnotism. Some stammer, some are terse, some are completely mute, and what being hypnotized brings out in them may vary. Some will be drawn as if they were caught off-guard, but many are drawn enjoying it, as if it was some kind of relief from anxiety, or it just feels natural to them.

Mouthless Subs

While the thought of having no mouth and needing to scream is horrifying, drawing a hypnotized sub without a mouth yields rather enticing results. Whether it's part of the character design or just a minimal style for the expression, a lack of a mouth leaves the viewer's mind to fill in the blanks on what the character is feeling, and leaves only the eyes for the artist to work with, challenging their ability to draw expressions. A lack of mouth also implies a quiet, passive sub, even if the character isn't one.

So Sure, So Submissive

Whether they are actually strong-willed, or just aloof, hardened, or haughty enough to appear that way, these kinds of subs are very satisfying to put under. The reasons why may vary, perhaps they have a softer side the artist wants to show, or have an ego that needs breaking, or perhaps they're drawn in a scenario where they willingly let it happen, to finally get a break from acting "fancy" or "cool" all the time.

The Long Face

The Long Face is an expression where a character's mouth is drooped near the bottom of their face, with the eyes (and nose if you draw them) often being farther up, giving the impression that the character is looking up. This face has a dreary look to it, and can convey many emotions, such as despair, boredom, sleepiness, or even a sheepish smile. If the character is looking upward, their eyes would usually slant slightly up.

Here's a question for all you digital artists out there…

How do you organize your "digital sketchbook", if you have one? Or, how do you deal with doodling and possibly having dozens of files of random things lying around?

Personally, I make a Comic file in :clip_studio_paint: and use it like a sketchbook. I add "pages" as needed, but the comic file format keeps it all organized. When a sketch gets more serious, I can then copy it into its own document/file to finish without worrying about the other sketches cluttering up the page. (The only annoying thing with this is you have to have the expensive version of CSP to use their comic files…)
