My best moonshot so far, in my opinion. Feedback and tips for improvement are welcome. It is damn hard to nail the focus with this lens, also with focus-peaking. There is always some kind of luck involved here. The focus lottery so to say :-)

When I was little, I was told that when looking at the Moon crescent, the "rest of the moon" can't be seen as it's dark, my brain is just imagining it.

There it is, teasing me again

Orion constellation just above the horizon, appearing as big as the house next to it.

My first adventure into #astrography - Orion (+nebula visible).

Canon EOS 1300D with f/1.8 35mm lens, 15 min total time, 5s per image. Stacked with DeepSkyStacker, postprocess in GIMP.

I captured the usual lights + darks + flats + bias pictures, but shooting from my balcony clearly shows a lot of light pollution (+ neighbor deciding now is the best time to heat up with wet wood ruins a lot of pictures).

I need to get better with focusing, and maybe I'll try a different zoom lens later.
