Gestern war #Bloomsday, womit der Roman „Ulysses“ von James Joyce gefeiert wird. Bei uns ist nicht nur der mehr als 700 Seiten starke Primärtext vorhanden, sondern auch die empfehlenswerte Sonderausgabe zum 100. Jubiläum, zu finden unter der Signatur ELA J 891 2533-259 0. Sie wartet mit 200 Seiten mehr auf und bietet viele Fußnoten, Karten, Illustrationen. We spent Bloom's day not in Dublin but in Galway, at Nora Barnacle Joyce's childhood home on Bowling Green street - it is a lovely, tiny museum now - two victorian rooms kept as they were, filled with photographs - we spent the afternoon drinking tea with lovely ladies and reading Molly's monologue (aka "Penelope") and Nora's letters. As much as we could, a feminist view of "Ulysses", far from the entertained crowds of Bloom and Daedalus odyssey.
