#BirdOfTheDay theme for today is #FoodFinds and I've shared some of my fav shots of #Birds with food in their beak quite often: little egret, a #blurd bee-eater, purple sunbird, a black kite #BirdsOfBlueSky #Photography #Nature #WildlifePhotography #EastCoastKin #raptor

an egret perched on a rope - with a piece of fish discard in its mouth.

the bird is white, has a head plume. the lower body feather are dirty (black in color) from the pollution in the dock side.a green bird that has an insect in its beak is looking away from the photographer - the bird is green with shades of yellow and blue. its perched on a branch (perfectly focused) - as a result the insect is just slightly out of focusa purple sunbird with iridescent blue feathers perched on a bunch of red flowers, with its long beak in the bloom to drink the nectar.a black kite after grabbing something from the sea, is holding its claw closer to its mouth, so it can eat mid flight.

the bird has yellow claws, and a yellow beak ending in black tip. the wings are brown and white, and the flight wings are more brown. tail is fanned out.

the head is brown and light falling on it makes it glow.

Caught up with video editing, so late with (yesterday's) #BirdOfTheDay post - theme: #movement a #blurd Whiskered Tern, that was photographed just before the sunrise at a somewhat slow shutter speed for enough light to come through đŸĒļ đŸŒŋđŸ–Œī¸ #Photography #nature #EastCoastKin #BirdPhotography

a green bird that has an insect in its beak is looking away from the photographer - the bird is green with shades of yellow and blue. its perched on a branch (perfectly focused) - as a result the insect is just slightly out of focusa large bird, looking towards the photographer with a frog in its beak - the belly is towards the photographer - and the head towards the stork. the frog is caught across the neck, and two of its hind legs are dangling.

the bird is large with black wings, and grey belly, it has a white head, with tuft of hair (resembling some evil mad scientist) - blue eyes and pale coloured beak.

there is green grass all around it, and near its leg you can see soil where it has dug to find the frog.

Alternate theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #Worst. If you're doing #Bird #Photography, you know the pain of missing the shot by a fraction of a second. Or the auto-focus finds something else more exciting. đŸĒļ đŸŒŋđŸ–Œī¸ #Photography #Nature #Wildlife #EastCoastKin #JunglesOfIndia #Blurd #WorstBirdPic

It's always crazy to shoot Terns! they are fast, and shooting them with a D7000 (+ Tamron 70-300) Was looking through the archive to share some pictures for #TernTuesday #Blurd #Birds #Photography #EastCoastKin #Nature #Wildlife (next month planning to photograph them with the #Nikon z6iii)

a common term, photographed from the front, it's head is in focus and wing span as well. there's a black cap, and the wings are dark from above.

it's flying over the dock water - which is littered with plastic.a tern, just out of focus, as it makes a swift flight. there are small ferries in the background with people working/prepping to take it out for fishing.another photo of the same bird, just out of focus - as it flies in front of a different ferry which has large containers on board to collect fresh catch.

Trying to photograph a Bee Eater with a bee in its mouth has its own challenge. Specially when they don't sit in one place for too long! Sometimes it's an almost got the shot moment! #Photography #Blurd #Birds #Nature.

Indian Rollers have the most beautiful shades of blue in their wings.
In Hindi they are called neelkanth (blue throated) -- also at one point (British India) they were called Blue Jays.

A bird photographed midflight through a small frame, framed by trees (green leaves) you see multiple shades of blue on the wings.

The Indian roller is a bird of the family Coraciidae, 30–34 cm long having pinkish face and throat, the head and back are brown, with blue on the rump and contrasting light and dark blue on the wings and tail

Have been spotting a pond heron from our window for weeks, but today almost managed to get a picture. but it #blurd out because #StickHappens đŸĒļ #Photography #BackyardBirding It flew away before I could click a better picture from a different angle.

An Indian Pond Heron sitting on a branch behind sticks, so I didn't get enough time to focus, before it flew away after the first photograph.

for #PhotoFailFriday here's a Jungle babbler that I was trying to click, and a second babbler landed in front of it and now the main subject is a little #Blurd and the new one is showing some #BirdButt #Birds #Photography

two jungle babblers in the frame. the blurred bitd has a yellow beak and black eyes. it has brown feathers. next to it is the same species but you can see its tail and butt of the bird.

perched on a cloth covering the pipe of the jeep.
