Learning all kinds of new info about boat paint, especially two-part LPU paint! Got the 2nd coat of primer onto the boot stripe today (photo shows 1 coat from yesterday). Tomorrow is sanding and first coat of Flag Blue (a dark blue)! Hoping I get it right, but also okay if I fuck it up. #boatprojects #boatwork #boatlife

Eine ziemlich verbastelte Jaka 18 auf einem Trailer. Alle Luken sind geöffnet. Ein Spanngurt und 4 Metallstützen sichern das Boot.

Ein Blick auf die "Elektrik". Aus zwei Feuchtraum Verteilerdosen kommen diverse Kabel. Ein gelbes Multimeter ist mit einem Stück Blech und zwei Schrauben aus ein Holzbrett geschraubt. Die Prüfspitzen sind mit Klebeband an weiteren Kabeln befestigt.

And for those keeping score at home, here's the final result (with and without zincs installed). The dawn+descaler wasn't as effective as I had hoped. A flathead screwdriver and gentle taps from a hammer was the best way to get the really hard barnacles off. Dremel for polishing.

How it started vs how it's going. Spent a couple of hours yesterday and most of today working on descaling our keel coolers. The good news: you can tell they're #keelCoolers now. The bad news: the zincs still don't fit in 3/4 of the holes. More descaling tomorrow!

Inspected all the thru hulls on SV Loka today, and one of them had quite a bit of gunk in it from the outside. This is the aft head discharge (holding tank by-passed) thru hull. Any ideas on what it might be? Should we be worried about something deteriorating upstream? #boatyard #sailing #boatProjects #theBoatyard
