Finished listening to "the life impossible", Matt Haig's latest book. It is about an elderly English woman who inherits a house on Ibiza from a woman she hardly knew. She decides to travel to ibiza where she finds a mysterious note left to her by the previous house owner that will end up completely changing her life. I enjoyed this book and even decided to gift it to my mum! It's a feel good book celebrating life.

Just finished listening to a corruption of blood by ambrose parry. Its the third book in the raven crime series, set in victorian Edinburgh. Dr. Raven is the assistant to the famous dr. Simpson and lives in his household together with the former maid sarah, who he solves a series of murders with. Definitely worth a listen to people who enjoy crime fiction or historical novels. Available for free on the borrowbox app.

@eobeara As a long time Kobo user, I'm active on the MobileReads forums and Irish users there have always had good things to say about #BorrowBox . Since I personally would rather perform DIY root canal with a rusty spoon than use audiobooks, I don't feel it absence here much. 😀

@ronsboy67 In Ireland we have #BorrowBox a free audiobook service from our public libraries. It needs some input to broaden its available titles, but I use it regularly.

I have looked around on the web and it seems you need an Adobe ID (really just hate adobe) and the process seems just...arcane. What am I missing? Is Kobo incompatible? Just finished going zero, a thriller by Anthony McCarten. It is about a woman taking on a social media giant that, together with the US government, plans to build the ultimate surveillance state. It starts off with a test of their technology but soon turns into a lot more. There are big plot twists in this book and overall I enjoyed it. I listened to it through the library app #borrowbox

I have acquired an old #Kobo that I need to get up and running. Unfortunately our library doesn't use a platform that is compatible (we've got #BorrowBox atm). Does anyone have any experience with Kobo? Where to find reading material etc?

I can't remember who recommended this book to me (someone on here) but I just finished it and thought it was very good. If is about an elderly couple that lose their home and with it their income. Unsure what to do they decide to walk "the salt path" along the coast living in a tent. Homeless and hungry they struggle along and we with them. Totally recommend it. I listened to the audiobook through the library app borrowbox.
