Bottom line, Researchers, Journalists and others absolutely have a first amendment right to criticize social media platforms and their moderation processes, without fear of being the subject of a lawsuit.

It was pretty clear from the start this was #Musk and #Twitter trying to get back at the #CCDH for saying what everybody knows anyway. Musk is only a #FreeSpeechAbsolutist when it comes to speech he agrees with.
