A rapidly fading American Beauty Pasta mural seen in the Columbia Street Waterfront District neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC.

Not seen in the image is graffiti encroaching on the mural from lower on the wall, which overlooks a vacant lot. It is a neat mural, so I hope some effort is made to (A) preserve it and (B) clean up the graffiti and trash in the area.

PS: I only just learned that American Beauty is still a brand and its products are available on Amazon and other major retailers. May have to try some of this pasta.

I came across this strange flier in Brooklyn, NYC, while crossing Sackett Street from Columbia Street Waterfront District intoi Carroll Gardens. There are a few of these strange fliers in the general area - most of which don't make any sense. This one doesn't make much sense either - but I foundthe visual amusing. Is it a guy in a bedsheet clutching a flower pot? Strange. I'll note that this flier has a QR code at the bottom, but I cropped the QR code out because I am a firm believer in not scanning random weird QR codes on the street. Speaking of which, I covered the QR code questions in a humorous fictional dialogue on the flier.

(PS: This has "PYRAMID SCHEME" written all over it.)

Photograph of the Summit Street Bridge in Brooklyn, NYC. The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway bisects Hicks Street, separating the neighborhood of Columbia Street Waterfront District (where I'm standing) from Carroll Gardens (on the other side of the bridge). The Bridge is one of the five crossings to Columbia Street Waterfront District from Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. The church in the background is Sacred Hearts & St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church.

I discussed one walk across the short bridge in an article with more photos, a map, and the history of the structure:

Picture taken from Columbia Street Waterfront District in Brooklyn. Carroll Gardens is in the background. The neighborhoods are separated by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. This photo, taken on May 19, 2021, is related to two other photos I posted on Pixelfed. First, I took this photo right before crossing the Summit Street Bridge (see earlier post of planter-sign). Second, you will note a tiny red dot in the top right of the background. That is the miniature stop sign that I took a photo of and posted to Pixelfed a few weeks ago.

A blue vespa parked in a Brooklyn neighborbood (Columbia Street Waterfront District). You can see a church in the background. I took the photo on the evening of May 19, 2021, with the Open Camera App on my Motorola Moto e6.

Back in June 2020, I came across this three-step portable wooden set of stairs in Columbia Street Waterfront District. As you can see in the picture, the stairs don't appear to lead anywhere. Mysterious.

The Summit Street Bridge is a short pedestrian bridge in Brooklyn NY that connects one side of Hicks Street (in Carroll Gardens) to the other (in Columbia Street Waterfront District) over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. At the foot of the bridge on the Columbia Street Waterfront District-side, there is a planter box, pictured in this post, with the name of the bridge written on it. A charming sign if I've ever seen one.

I posted an article with numerous pictures from one of my walks across the Bridge (including this one) and with additional history about the Bridge and notes on the area:

A mint bike in the melting snow in Brooklyn. As I note in my article - linked below - I do not remember the exact location of the photogenic bike, but I think that it was in the Columbia Street Waterfront District of Brooklyn.
