If you're wondering why this pumpkin was in such a sorry state, I took this photo on MARCH 20, 2022. The poor thing had been left outside for several months, subjected to multiple rounds of freezing and thawing. Someone (not me) tried to give voice to the sorrow of the gourd.

A rotting pumpkin found on a Brooklyn NYC stoop in March 2022. It had likely been left out there since the autumn, left to battle the cold winter. Someone wrote "WHY GOD WHY!" on the pumpkin in black marker.

Not seen in the image is graffiti encroaching on the mural from lower on the wall, which overlooks a vacant lot. It is a neat mural, so I hope some effort is made to (A) preserve it and (B) clean up the graffiti and trash in the area.

PS: I only just learned that American Beauty is still a brand and its products are available on Amazon and other major retailers. May have to try some of this pasta.

There is a man-made beach at New York City's Brooklyn Bridge Park. This beach leads into the East River instead of the Atlantic Ocean. Now I would not recommend that people play in the East River, but the beach has attracted many seafaring birds to the area. It is not uncommon to see geese, ducks, and... mourning doves?

Here, I was close to the Manhattan exit of the Bridge. Note that I took this photo at 7:29 AM on September 12, 2022. I took the first photo of the set from the Brooklyn entrance to the Bridge at 7:15 AM. The Brooklyn Bridge is not a long pedestrian Bridge - it should take most people 20-25 to make it across (depending on which entrances/exits are used). Here, I took a picture of the Freedom Tower. Despite being close to it (I estimate it would be about a 20 minute walk from where I am in the photo), the tallest building in the United States is difficult to see with the heavy fog. You can contrast this photo with the earlier photos in the set to see how the fog developed.

The fog and haze are really setting in around the Freedom Tower. It is becoming hard to see. The buildings in front of it, however, are blissfully unaffected.

I am just in front of the first of the Brooklyn Bridge's two towers from the Brooklyn side, facing Manhattan. You can see that the Manhattan skyline is starting to become a bit hazy in the few minutes it took for me to make it to the first tower.
