This is a prototype of a custom print that has been on my back burner for a while, so I'm pulling it out for the upcoming art show. In researching my great-grandfather and my family history, I discovered a collection of Auditor's Images on the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library's site. Every house in Toledo was photographed in 1937 on to what they called Block Cards. I wanted to try something by outlining the house and superimposing it on a street map of the area where the house exists. The two boys on the front porch are my great-uncles as boys, but they could also be my grandfather, but I expect he was too young. I can imagine the photographer saying it was ok for them to be in the photo. It was such a joy to find this in the library collection and see my relatives in it. I like the idea of this and would love to develop it more in the future. #heidigoseek #househistory #customprint #genealogy
