@andi At our office we are planning to supply datasets to researchers as #datapackage (https://datapackage.org/) = csv/parquet + metadata. We are currently writing #rstats code (see https://github.com/djvanderlaan/datapackage and https://github.com/djvanderlaan/codelist both still under development) to have researchers be able to do what you are showing in your example . See attached screenshot. Born out of the same frustration you have.
