I love the Daily Notes in the app.

I shout into the void there instead of on social media now.

It's acting as my notes, a log of stuff I've done during the day, AND a mini journal. Lol.

Add in using to track my moods and I feel pretty productive on the mental health front.

“Feeling determined? Turn any activity into a goal.” Helpful insight from #Daylio.

#MentalHealth having a "i need to confine myself to my room" day. But #Daylio reminded me of good memories and that helps. Sometimes the bots are on our side, ya know?

The +17% mood boost on days when I get to ride is absolutely real, by the way 🥺

The app measured a 7% better mood on the day before, 17% better mood on the day of riding, and 4% lower mood on the day after.

@bitterseeds I honestly just started using DayOne for fun years ago. First post was about the day my kid learned to ride a bike (he’s 16 now). When I started using a MacBook for work I was able to use the Mac standalone app for entries, which was pretty cool - another app that is only for Mac unfortunately. DO is great for its purpose and very slick. I got grandfathered in on a particular “Plus” plan but they charge an annual subscription for certain features, like attaching videos to posts, and that’s definitely a reason to use Obsidian instead.

#Daylio is another similar app I’ve had a look at recently.

Right now I've been using #Daylio, but it's not my favorite.

I'm not a fan of how the moods are separated into 5 categories. Trying to operate off the feelings wheel, I would prefer it a lot more if it let me use 6 categories instead.

Adding moods is also a bit cumbersome, and logging becomes a whole chore on itself. I'd also love some templating aspects for notes but it's not a huge deal.

I've considered going to Obsidian daily notes and trying to get a plugin of some sort that can create a table of all the entries, but that seems like a lot of file management in the end that might become cumbersome. I also am not in a space to pay for a syncing solution like Obsidian Sync, and I mostly use Obsidian on my computer.

I know this is very nitpicky and I am just getting back into programming, so I might just try and make a local hosted web app for all of this in the meantime. But, I thought it would be worth asking.

For the last maybe 10 years I’ve been using a journaling app called #DayOne as a diary. As times goes on it's really interesting to see what happened "on this day 8 years ago”. Learned recently of a new app called #Daylio and have checked it out. I don't think it'll replace DayOne for me, but Daylio is mostly free and has some improvements over DO so I thought y'all might like to know about it. It's better than DO as it's possible to "microjournal" with it. You can just choose your mood from 5 options, and then there are sections for things like health, social, chores etc. So in 10 sec you could click on Good, and then Cooking, Gym, Movies and tv, and that's it. You can also add full notes like a real diary if you want, along with photos, and it also has a goal tracker and comprehensive stats per day. I really like it. For instance, today I just chose good, coffee, dishes.

Daylio is apps.apple.com/us/app/daylio-j, DayOne is apps.apple.com/us/app/day-one-
