40 years ago, the Swedish hardcore punk/crust band Crude S.S. released their debut EP, Who'll Survive?, which expanded the D-Beat formula by incorporating environmental themes that would not become prevalent in the scene until much later.

'Respect the Earth' is probably one of the earliest environmental hardcore songs, influencing fans and bands from the 1990s onwards.
