For anyone interested, I found this post that basically lists the known ports of Descent and Descent 2, with download links and instructions.

None have OPL3 emulation though :/ This game was born to rock with FM synth!!

I did tried them 😬 Which is not good for my time heatlh, and they all work ok out of the box.

I think I'll be spending some time reconnecting with this good oldie soon.
