Arch Enemy’s “Don’t Look Down” is as clichéd and unimaginative as “Birds Elope with the Sun” by The Agonist, lead singer Alissa White-Gluz’s previous band, was original and innovative. While the latter coined its own neo-idioms (e.g., “nival anaphora”), the former is content to senselessly (mis)quote and mishmash a handful of well-worn commonplaces.
