Uploaded my first @loops video by @dansup today. App keeps getting better (via Test Flight). Kudos!
Cons today: No edit ability after post to add tags or correct spelling and I also get booted out of leaving comments by the app every time the video loops/starts over. I have to compose my comments on short vida in a new window and cut-paste.

I really appreciate that I can follow, e.g. @tedunderwood.me and @elotroalex.bsky.social here on mastodon, too, even though they focus their activities on bluesky.
I am not sure about how far bridging is adopted on the mastodon side, but I frequently look up bluesky accounts only to find that they are not bridged to mastodon.

Just curious how images will look in the fediverse. It took me a few minutes to remember my login credentials for Mastodon, but I got there eventually. My posts show up there, and comments made there show up here. Looks like it works as advertised.

WordPress.com announced a new function today. We can cross post to federated services (federated is the right word, isn’t it?) like Mastodon. I switched it on and I can see the domain it created, robertjames1971.blog@robertjames1971.blog, in Mastodon… though I don’t really use Mastodon. This post is me testing to see if the cross posting works. They say it could take 15 minutes or so to show up in the fediverse.
Now the good folks at Bluesky have to get their federated act together (I am pretty sure they are still heading in that direction) so I can follow myself there… because Bluesky is one that I actually sort of use.

I am not sure how I feel about this idea but.. for a while at least I am wondering whether #Mastodon instances should append a utm_source=Mastodon or utm_source=ActivityFed to all links posted in #toots to show website owners the traffic coming from #FederatedSocialMedia - Maybe it would prompt a few more to engage with their own instances.

Concerning my switching to #FederatedSocialMedia SO FAR I seem to prefer plain vanilla #mastodon over #tusky or #Pixelfed (thou there's still a couple other apps/platforms I'm planning on testing out in the near future). It just enough of a frankensteination of twitter and insta to please me.
