Hakkerileiri is built by community, for the community, our camp brings together hackers, makers, and curious minds for a few days of building, learning, sharing and ofc lot of sauna.

To make this event accessible and affordable for everyone, we’re looking for sponsors who believe in open knowledge, grassroots tech culture, and supporting innovations.

What is hakkerileiri?

Hakkerileiri is a nonprofit hacker camp that draws its inspiration from international hacker camps, such as CCCamp. As this kind of event was missing from Finnish cyber scene, we wanted to create a space where curious minds could gather, share knowledge, and experiment freely out in the beautiful Finnish nature.

So what does this mean?

A Hakkerileiri is a multi-day, outdoor, community-organized gathering where hackers, engineers, and technology enthusiasts spend time outdoors, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects of their interest.

The camp is created by its participants. You are welcome to bring your own project and share it with others, give a talk on your favorite topic or arrange a workshop on something that makes your heart sing.

A hacker is someone who refuses to accept things as they are and instead wonders how they could be. 💡🕵🏾‍♀️

If that sounds like you—even a little—you’ll fit right in. 🫵🏽👌🏼

There’s a strong maker spirit at Hakkerileiri: learning by doing, breaking things (sometimes on purpose), fixing them, and creating something new from limited resources. 👷👷‍♀️

You might be a hacker if curiosity drives you,
if experimenting feels more fun than following instructions, if problem-solving excites you or if you enjoy making things work in unexpected ways.

Do you need to be a hacker to join Hakkerileiri?
Short answer: nope. Not even close. ⛺️

Hakkerileiri was born from a simple idea:
what if we brought a hacker camp to Finland and filled it with curious, like-minded adults who enjoy figuring things out together? 💡

You don’t need a hoodie, a terminal, or secret knowledge. It’s enough to be interested. 🙋🏻

I very proudly present my long awaited blog post on my @eth0 #hackercamp project.

Here we cover the experience of going to my first hackercamp as well as the #serial decoder for the HP 1653B logic analyzer.

We cover the data format and how to decode it as well as release a #Python decoder for this format.

The #decoder is promptly named 'sla0p' which is a spin on #eth0 and means 'to save' in Dutch.

The countdown to RomHack Camp 2026 has officially started.
The Cyber Saiyan team was on-site at Flaminio Village (Rome) for our very first inspection!

It might look like a quiet, empty field now, but just imagine this space in 10 months.

We walked the ground and started mapping out the Camp:
- 🎪 The Main Stage tent
- 🐛 The Hacker Space tent
- 🛠️ Dedicated areas for hands-on Workshops
- 🎤 Spaces for Talks and technical deep dives
- 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A dedicated Kids Area for our future hackers
- 🤝 Community Tents
- 🚀 Sponsors area

The vision is taking shape, and we can't wait to fill this space with technology, learning, and all of you.

SAVE THE DATES!

- RomHack Training: September 21-24, 2026
- RomHack Camp: September 25-27, 2026

We are back from @why2025camp , and our first international hacker camp as a community was an absolutely unforgettable experience!

Our mission was to contribute, share, and learn, and the spirit of collaboration we found was incredible.

A special thank you goes out to:

- The entire @milliways village for hosting us near the end of the universe (south side).

- Our amazing 14 Cyber Saiyan community members who dedicated their time and energy to run the village activities.

- Our friends at ESC (End Summer Camp) and Metro Olografix. Running the GR.A.P.P.A. cluster together with you was a true pleasure.

- Every single person who stopped by our village! Thank you for playing with our badge and the Battle of Saiyan robot arena, for your curiosity about RomHack, and for making our "Italy Takeover" such a success. Fueling hundreds of hackers with Pasta all'Amatriciana for lunch and dinner was a highlight of our trip!

The connections made and the knowledge shared are what these events are all about. We leave inspired and already looking forward to the future.

The appointment is set: CCC Camp in 2027!

But before, don't forget RomHack Camp in September 2026

With Hackers’ soundtrack playing in my headphones, I’m starting my journey to #WHY2025 🤟

This is also the first time I’m using an #Interrail ticket 👀

I will try to log the whole trip on Träwelling, via the nifty Träwelldroid.

Cash is King at the fringe of @why2025camp

WHY is mostly cashless; bars, supermarket, and food are card/phone/cash-to-card.
But you’ll want some cash for hacker badges, village donations, workshops, add-ons, and our Milliways WHY Challenge Coin.

Try to get your cash before you reach Alkmaar as local ATMs will be popular last-minute stops.
Use any reputable ATM (Geldmaat or GWK) outside the region while you still can.

Don’t miss out just because you forgot a few tenners.
