(It's the new ferry from Staten Island to Brooklyn. Yes, eating meals on fast boats gets nauseous real quick, I quickly recovered, my friend might have not. Yes, the halal cart was near the outlets on Staten Island. I think it's okay, though unfortunately the unfamiliarity to the spicy sauce and the ferry's speed did deal psychic damage to my friend, who was visiting the city for the first time.)

Tabarouette! Au Québec, on est passés maîtres dans l'art de se compliquer la vie. T'as la mangue, le fruit, qui a besoin d'un permis de curé pour être sûr qu'elle est correcte. Pis t'as nos institutions publiques, comme l'hôpital, qui se séparent en deux: une zone «sainte», pis une zone pour les mangeux de cochon.

C'est là que le gouvernement nous fait le coup de la laïcité à géométrie variable. Y crient au scandale pour une petite croix, mais quand les gros chèques des donateurs rentrent à l'hôpital, le principe, y va prendre un p'tit café.

Finalement, dans cette province, le portefeuille pèse toujours plus lourd que le beau discours. Bienvenue dans l'absurdité du Québec moderne.
