At the EPIC SWIM MAUI the swimmers were recently swimming in the lee of rugged rocks because the wind was so strong. 💨 They are constantly accompanied by a safety team. The weather conditions also made sampling difficult. Nevertheless, the athletes managed to take two samples. 💪

Next day at the Epic Swim Maui! 🌊 These great swimmers are amazing! They swim for 6 hours in the sea in rough conditions.
Why do they take the samples for us?
Swimming is the purest water sport. When they swim away from the boat with the bottle, the body of water is less affected.💦 A thousand thanks for that!

Einfach tierisch! 🐜 In einem Millionen Jahre alten Stück Bernstein haben Forscher:innen eine Ur-Ameise als eigene Gattung und Art identifiziert. Gelungen ist dies mithilfe der Röntgenlichtquelle PETRA III in Hamburg. Die neue Art wurde deshalb nach den beteiligten Forschungszentren benannt.
