In kleinschalig #cultuurlandschap heb je tempoverschillen in de groei en bloei van planten. Net als in een #tuin. Dat spreidt de voedselvoorziening voor insekten.
Deze klimroos staat in de schaduw en bloeit nu pas. Leuk detail: uit de gele harten komt oranje stuifmeel. De #Hommel zoemt heel hard om het los te trillen.

In het centrum een zwart met geel gekleurde hommel, aan weerszijden twee bolletjes oranje stuifmeelklompjes. De achtergrond is een variatie van wit: rozenblaadjes.

Started working/building a new epinette this week. The last one was a chromatic version, played with the fingers. This one will be a chromatic version, but instead of playing with the fingers, this will be played with a small stick. The melody strings will be placed much closer to each other. Bumblebees vary in appearance, but are generally plump and densely furry. They are larger, broader and stouter-bodied than honeybees, and their abdomen tip is more rounded. Er zat een nog behoorlijk slome hommel koningin op de plaats. Mevrouw bliefte geen suikerwater. Toen heb ik haar maar op de heidestruik gezet. Dat is op het moment het enige wat bij me in bloei staat. Daar is ze nu al een half uur overheen aan het kruipen, van bloemetje naar bloemetje.

Last Thursday we fitted the mics in this absolute delight. The dulcimer is made by Michel Terlinck. The back of the instrument was not yet fitted so we could try different positions for the elements. And even though the instrument isn’t finished yet, it sounded truly great. Het hommelseizoen is alweer duidelijk over het hoogtepunt heen wat te zien is aan het feit dat je momenteel naast werksters ook mannetjes tegenkomt. Maar ook de nieuwe koninginnen laten zich nu zien.
De mannetjes verzamelen geen stuifmeel voor het hommelnest wat werksters wel doen. Het enige wat ze doen is nectar drinken van de bloeiende planten en paren met de nieuwe koninginnen.
