Deductive reasoning is only as useful as the assumption upon which you base your beliefs.
Ex: This person was born female. Females of a certain age menstruate. She is of the age to menstruate. She menstruates.
versus
Ex: This person was born female. Females are lousy drivers. She is a lousy driver.
Prejudice is (technically) just the latter of these two examples since the initial assumption wasn't based on factual evidence.
