Indie #iOSDevs let's all share what our apps look like when built for #iOS26 with #Xcode26 🧵👇

Out of the box screenshots only - tweaking is cheating 😁

@zenitizer needs a lot of work to blend in and take advantage of #LiquidGlass but at least it compiles and is usable 😅

Three screenshots showing Zenitizer’s main timer interface while interacting with various UI elements like the tab bar or the volume picker popup. Things look a bit out of place and you can tell which parts automatically adapt to the new system style and which parts need some updating and tweaking over the summer to blend in nicely.

#iOSDevs → have you ever removed a feature from your app? What led you to it? Was it usage data, feedback, maintenance complexity, or just gut feeling?

Or is feature removal something you’ve never considered? Why?

Curious to hear your experiences.

Hey #iosDevs

I need a quick reminder. If I'm going after a multi-word keyword like “super cool app", is it sufficient to add keywords separately, like “super, cool, app”, or do you need to specifically use the unseparated version?

Calling #iOSDevs for some help. I want to recreate the ‘symbol picker’ from Reminders.

Currently, have an enum with a case for each SF icon and will run a ForEach on it.

Is there is a better way?

Bonus points if you can point me to a tutorial to include the emoji picker too!

Oof. GitHub CI is *so slow.* Trying to fix a failure in CI that doesn’t fail locally. Extending the timeout to see if that fixes the issue. But every time I re-run it, I have to wait ~14 minutes to see if it’s still failing vs. less than a minute locally.

I’d love to see benchmarks comparing Xcode Cloud vs. GitHub Actions. Do any #Swift or #iOSDevs know if this exists?

How do #iOSDevs prepare screenshots for the App Store? Do you use any services to make the creation (eg adding device frames, background and copy etc.) easier?

To all of the #iOSDevs out there. Do you feel that #Xcode 14.3 has broken things? I have had to add a -f to one of the scripts, and I don’t know how to fix Swift package Manager so that Firebase works again.

Another swift shortcut that I just tried today in Unit Tests. Instead of writing out a for loop you can just map a Range to your desired object. I'm not sure about the efficiency but here it is: #iosdevs

@twostraws
Paul the Xcode Cloud Developer Kitchen was fabulous, such a good crew of engineers and developers. My former Flight Instructor was there, she is a iOS developer now, had not seen here since 2013. Turns out Xcode is now 20 years old, I went to the 1st kitchen in 2003 at Infinite Loop, and now the 1st at Apple Park in the New Dev Center 20 years later. Had issues getting workflow running, which I am sorting out via feedback. Thanks for the pointer! #iosdevs #xcodecloud

Handy property wrapper I use a lot in my async code to make any variable atomic and thread-safe. Happy coding #iosdevs

#iosdevs: Is there a way to sync Xcode settings between multiple macs? I'm always switching between my work and personal laptops, and it would be awesome to have my preferences and settings in sync. Any tips or hacks are welcome! 😊

Hey #SwiftUI / #iosdevs

I have a project that is just a big database. Lots tables and in some cases quite a few rows.

I need it shareable across devices but I don’t want to run, or pay for, a web service - so iCloud only.

My inclination is to use Core Data because I know it but the iCloud stuff scares me.

Is it safe? Is there a better choice?

@jcheroske @augieray Some well known #iosdevs have also refused to at least cross post which is easily within their skill set, it leads me to speculate on their morals and their politics. The claim is this place will be a ghost town, they tried it before … when actually they may already be on the “payroll” to discourage the #TwitterMigration
