and
“It really was incredible,”
mean the same thing?
They *can* mean the same thing. But not usually. This native English speaker typically uses the first sentence word order in such a way that really = very. (Muy, not de verdad.)
In my opinion “ACTUALLY” is a better word if you want to avoid confusion when translating “de verdad”. Slightly different meaning from “really” but go with it…
