@lardier @docjones Das finde ich an #activitypub von @pfefferle für #wordpress cool. Er hat das nicht als Ersatz für eine Instanz konzipiert, aber wenn die Instanz mein Webserver wäre, wäre es noch einfacher für alle. Im Prinzip wirklich wie Email.
#deltachat gucke ich mir definitiv an. Was man eigentlich will ist irgendeine peertopeer-Technologie, bei der keine Server mehr notwendig sind. Irgendwer hatte daran schonmal gearbeitet, aber sicher nicht erfolgreich.

@G00NZ00 also ich bin natürlich etwas voreingenommen, weil mir #DeltaChat sehr gut gefällt. Aber ich finde von der Einfachheit her ist es ein super System. Einfach installieren, Knopf für neues Konto drücken und eingerichtet ist es. Als großen Vorteil sehe ich den Aspekt, dass sich DeltaChat von totalitären Staaten unheimlich schwer blocken lässt, weil die Server Dezentral aufgestellt sind und man nicht einfach E-Mail pauschal blockieren kann in einem Land.

I would be very grateful if you could advocate for the email standards to be changed to include support for sealed (encrypted) senders.
Without this limitation, too much metadata is shared, and we should avoid referring to this service as a privacy-protecting messenger.
You omitted the timing of messages from your list of metadata: this can indicate the type of relationship, right?

When a personal URL (say, one's personal blog) is put into the #DeltaChat "Bio," when it's viewed on another device, it becomes tappable/clickable (in Android/Linux Desktop flatpak)! Awesome.
Does #Signal's very comparable "About" field afford this linky goodness (tappable/clickable)? No. **I strongly prefer that it is tappable/clickable**. These are the UX touches that matter to me. It's a functionality/usability thing - not so much an eye-candy thing.
(Note: #DeltaChat's "Bio" field is found in "File" -> "Settings" -> "Edit Profile" in Linux, or the Kabab menu in the upper right -> "Settings" -> tap the avatar circle in Android).
Forward secrecy und post-quatum resistant encryption are on the way and anounced for coming this year !!!
So, there is no reason to avoid Delta Chat ! 😉

Avoid using DeltaChat if you do not wish to voluntarily participate in a surveillance programme operated by the Five Eyes (Plus). 😉
DeltaChat discloses a lot of metadata and is, of course, not quantum cryptography-secure. 🫣

Ya he solucionado mis problemas para usar una cuenta de correo con mi dominio personal en Delta Chat. Todo OK, salvo que nadie de mi círculo usa DeltaChat. Pero bueno, ea algo que ya conozco, ahora a sentarme en la puerta de DC y esperar a ver lo que se tarda en que sea conocido y usado.

Ich bin gerade auf Delta Chat gestoßen. Ein Chat, der einfach über das E-Mail-Protokoll funktioniert. Das ist superclever. E-Mail gibt es überall und man kann sie nicht einfach abschalten.
Ich hatte z.B. sofort mit der kubanischen und iranischen Community zu tun. Das ist nicht die Opposition dort, sondern Leute, die chatten wollen, ohne dass der große Bruder in den USA mitliest.
Aber auch für Familien ist das gut. Wenn du ein Kind hast, aber das nicht in die kranke Welt von WhatsApp und Telegram schicken willst. Bei Delta Chat kann man nicht angeschrieben werden oder in Gruppen eingeladen. Du musst die Person wirklich getroffen haben. (Es sei denn, du machst es wie ich und veröffentlichst deine Kontakte. Das ist ja nur zu Testzwecken.)

That really impresses me. I've received so many messages about Delta Chat. It's explosive. #Subgenius runs a relay—which isn't that surprising because no matter where you go, the cult is already there. Luckily, they like me ;)
But I've also gotten messages from Marcos in Cuba, who says it's used a lot there. I've heard the same thing from the Iranian community.
