The standard #Android is really a nightmare in terms of structure/clarity. I have heard of senior-friendly launchers but at least on #Fdroid, the choice of launchers seems quite limited.

Blackberry is long gone, and blackberrry-style phones usually run some flavor of Android, likely with Google's "AI" slop.
I can highly recommend using a FOSS Android build like GrapheneOS or #IodéOS (easier to use, IMHO), but you likely will need a pixel phone. There may be something available for your phone model, though.
Another option would be to install f-droid and try out a #FOSS android launcher. I'm keen on #KISSLauncher, but it's an acquired "taste."

Der iode-Webseite habe ich entnommen, dass es für dieses Gerät nur einen "Beta-Support" für die Version 6 gibt.

Was bedeutet der Betastatus genau?
Kann ich es wie bei meinem #Fairphone 4 selbst installieren?
Wird irgendwann der Betastatus verlassen, und wird es eine Version 7 geben?
@jacobscharmberg mijn ervaring met de laatste versie van #IodeOS (Android 16) is dat de telefoon echt 'laggy' werd.
@lynchantropen @erikwesselius ik wil e/os ook eens testen op een oude telefoon. Downloaden is zo traag en stopt de hele tijd door de traagheid. En dit is al een paar dagen zo. Bij andere roms zoals #iodeos of #lineageos nog nooit meegemaakt.

Heute habe ich mein #Fairphone5 neu aufgesetzt. Bisher hatte ich es mit #LineageOS betrieben. Doch es geht besser. Mit #iodeOS. Zusätzlich zu KEINEN Google Apps sind bei iodeOS auch viele Einstellungen unter der Haube von Google befreit. Noch besser soll es mit #GrapheneOS gehen, aber nur auf Pixel Phones.
Installation lief problemlos. Vorinstallierte Apps lassen sich vollständig auswählen. Tracker und Werbung werden direkt geblockt. Fein 🙂
Managed to brick my Fairphone 5 when trying to install iodéOS (installing using the shell) by *I think* letting it lock the bootloader without having run `fastboot flashing lock_critical` (although surely the installation process *should either do that or prompt it*?).
Corrupt OS, bootloader locked, can't unlock, then when attempting to correct this *did* run `fastboot flashing lock_critical` so now it's stuck in bootloader with everything locked and no ability to unlock.
Either all of that or you can't actually lock the bootloader in iodéOS and the install script fucked me.

#Iodeos hab ich auch auf einem #fairphone 5. Es gibt eine gute Anleitung zum selbst draufspielen, man kann die aber auch bei @iode kaufen. Kostet 50 Euro mehr als ein fairphone mit Android.

Pixel sind nicht fair hergestellt und schlecht zu reparieren.
/e/ fand ich von der Oberfläche nicht gut.
@apollo @AwetTesfaiesus ich würde dir aktuell zu #IodeOS raten. Ist für nicht besser eingerichtet als /e/ und bietet mehr als #lineageos ... Leider aber weniger als #calyxos 😪
Hoffentlich kommt #CalyxInstitute bald wieder auf die Füße...
@passenger @AwetTesfaiesus Würde ich auch empfehlen. Der Installer ist allerdings noch nicht mit dem Fairphone 6 kompatibel. Geht aber trotzdem ;). So hättest du Software und Hardware aus Europa.
