My grown kid has given me one of the nicest gifts ever. Ze read my favorite series of books that no one else in my life has read. And liked them! I now feel fulfilled as a mother. Kage Baker's Company series. It's very long, and has something for nearly everyone, intrigue, romance, cabals, cookery, time travel, cyborgs, history, architecture, and so much more. The stories are amazingly interwoven. I keep finding new connections among them. #books #bookstodon #KageBaker #justchatting #JoinIn
Didn't have to cook today, of course it's turkey leftovers, just had to do the last of the dishes from making it, but suddenly I'm all tired. It was just this business of modern, web based writing, creating PDFs and editing my Wordpress blog, this shit takes spoons when you pre-date the interwebs 😲 😬

Yesterday, I baked a ham.
Later, I set the ham on the kitchen counter to cool before putting it away.
Later than that, I unexpectedly heard the cat's celebration-&-triumph warble; and looked into the kitchen to see her sitting on the counter, nibbling away at the ham. (So I cut off that bit, & put the rest off the ham away in the fridge.)
Today, I unexpectedly heard the cat's trouble-&-complaint yowl; and looked into the kitchen to see her sitting on the counter, looking more than a little miffed at finding "her" tasty ham missing.
*no, the cat is not forcefully discouraged from being on the kitchen counter. That is a battle that I have let go unchosen.

I wish image descriptions were the norm on every social media platform and not just this one. Sadly #JoinIn is still more popular on Twitter than here, but I've got so used to seeing pics being described, I'm starting to get fomo every time I come across one over there that's not described, which is virtually all of them.

I finished reading The Fortune Teller this morning, my mum lent it to me as I’d ran out of fiction to read. It’s ‘trashy’ and I have enjoyed it, I wanted to keep going which is good.
I stopped reading wintering, I don’t think it’s a bad book it’s just very middle class and I just couldn’t connect with it.

Heh, I slept 12 hours and I'm still exhausted. The socialisation was just a lot for me especially when I don't get to use Spanish so much. I'm probably really dehydrated from not drinking enough water yesterday too.
My lungs greeted me with defiance. They did not want to be awake in the cold air. The boiler is broken and the largest radiator in the house has a rust hole somewhere so it just leaks and doesn't work anymore...hence the cold air.
My fave present was the Christmas dinner.
My second favourite was a new harddrive to back up my MacBook Pro with... it's broken.
It's been broken for a week or two now but I haven't wanted to admit it.
It's difficult to make it charge because the light on the charger blinks on and off constantly, we have tried 3 charging cords and bricks (all from Apple no 3rd party) and various outlets...it's definitely the laptop so I am going to try to get some charge in it the best I can and back it up again for the final time and take it to the apple store to see if there's anything they can do to help. Surely the charging shouldn't break after 3 years. My 2010 MBP worked with MagSafe it's whole lifetime. 😅
The one good thing is that my past self was smart enough to keep the apple care coverage going. I knew I would need it eventually! 😅
I am keen to not have a broken MacBook.

Still on the diggers marathon, and the music track for so many of these shows is rock guitar stuff, it goes on and on, and it's good, I mean better than me, but it's inevitably sort of generic and not very fancy. I'm always hearing bits of songs and riffs and I'm trying to learn from listening, but honestly that's a very slow process for me. I like leaning by osmosis, but I'm not sure I'm music permeable 😀 🎶
