A new <geolocation> HTML element has been released by Google, so I played around with it today and wrote about it. I still have some things to learn and try, but so far it's pretty cool. medium.com/@amccollum.dev/play

Getting the syntax down was quick, but I've been more interested in the best way to write out the code and solve the problem. The flight tracker lists multiple returned objects, so I used a forEach() array method to add each flight to the screen (max 100).

I have added the GitHub repositories here, as I don't have public API keys to share for these. But I've included some instructions to get a free API key set up for you to try them out.

Learning cybersecurity little by little.
Sometimes it feels overwhelming, but also really interesting.
How did you start? Any advice you wish you had earlier? 🤯

I didn’t become a web developer by following a roadmap.

No YouTube. No AI.

Just browser games, “View Source,” broken layouts, PHP files I didn’t understand, and years of figuring out how browsers and servers actually talk to each other.

This is a personal, pre-AI look at what web development really is and what still matters today.

Last day it was snowing in my city, so I went to disconnect in the mountains. I forgot how much I love nature. I think this could be a good new hobby. 😊

Do you also use nature to disconnect from technology sometimes?

What I learned today: making separate branches will allow you to open multiple PRs. Making a second commit on the same branch (after opening a PR) will just add a second commit to that first PR. #learninginpublic #opensource

Day 1 of Python: Understanding the print() function.
It’s about data interpretation, not just text:
• 10+10 = 20 (Integer)
• "10"+"10" = "1010" (String concatenation)
Escape Characters:
\n (New line), \t (Tab), and \" (Escaping quotes).
Type logic > Syntax.

HybridMind42 is a space for slow, careful thinking.
We explore how boundaries shape reality —
in physics, biology, cognition, food, music, weather, and human systems.
Not hype.
Not mysticism.
Not shortcuts.
Just observation, rigor, and curiosity —
finding where nature already solved the problem.
If you like ideas that connect across domains
and explanations that actually hold together,
you’re very welcome here. ☕️

🎄Why Santa Doesn’t Burn Up? 🦌✨

Marvin asks on behalf of all concerned Young Scientists as he gazes up at the night sky and the
Ursid meteor shower...

He ponders, and sips his tea.

Meteors fall ...
but ... Santa glides.

Fire happens when something hits the air too fast, too steeply, too hard.
Santa doesn’t do that.

The reindeer spread the motion.
The sleigh skims the sky.
The air has time to move aside.

Sparkle ≠ flame.
Glow ≠ danger.

It’s careful physics.
Wrapped in kindness.
Delivered with tea.

Sleep well, little scientists. 🎄☕#Christmas
