I've had no complaints with my #mastodoninstance but have to admit I've thought about moving to somewhere that has a much more generous #characterlimit than 500. 2,000 would be a much better fit for the stuff I'd like to post and threads are not great in #mastodon - can anyone suggest somewhere with larger limit and bonus points if it's #softwareDevelopment #gaming #gayming or #lgbt / #queer instance?

The one thing I wish I could figure out while running my own instance is how to populate the "Explore" feature with more stuff. Being on the main mastodon.social node gave me a lot more to look at. Any pointers out there? #mastodonmigration #fediverse #mastodoninstance #mastodon

It should go without saying: this project does not equate Judaism with Nazism.

This has been stated in several different ways.

Moderators of this server (todon.nl) removed recent several posts in bad faith, claiming the posts "compare the Jewish people/religion to Nazis".

Can you recommend a Mastodon server, preferably not run by white people, where moderators do not conflate anti-Israel/anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism?

I like the way you're thinking. I think users here have a much higher willingness to proactively guard their privacy but conversely a much higher willingness to providing help when the goals are transparent and obviously ethical.
